The road construction departments of the State Concern "Turkmenavtoyollary" are working on the asphalting of the roadway and the installation of barrier fences on sections of the Turkmenbashi – Farab highway. The laying of the last pavement layer is completed in separate areas from Archman to Turkmenbashi and from Ashgabat to Mary. The construction of a multi-layer construction of the carriageway of the highway continues on the section of the highway - Mary-Turkmenabat-Farab. The construction of some sections has been completed and vehicles have been established in the areas of Ashgabat-Turkmenbashi, Ashgabat-Turkmenabat and Ashgabat-Dashoguz.

Next year, road builders have to master large amounts of capital investments in the construction of these 1676 kilometers long transport roads. The roads stretching across the entire country have important state significance, uniting the country's regions with transport links. According to the main characteristics, these are motorways, which, in accordance with international standards, have a multi-lane roadway with a central dividing line throughout. In particular, the Turkmenbashi-Farab and Ashgabat-Dashoguz highways provide two-way traffic for cars, have three-row lanes with a total width of 12.5 meters in each direction, a dividing strip, and fencing with metal barriers. The multilayered roadbed of the road, made using the latest technologies and materials, is designed for a long service life.

By order of the State Concern "Turkmenavtoyollary" with the participation of local and foreign companies, more than one hundred bridges are built and put into operation, including Atamurat-Kerkichi (1,415 meters) and Turkmenabat-Farab across the Amudarya River (1600 meters). In addition, work was carried out on the construction of a highway from the airport of Turkmenbashi to the Avaza National Tourist Zone, as well as roads in the resort area.

The road bridge 60 meters long is being erected on 564 km of the Ashgabat-Turkmenbashi road at present. Specialists of the design institute SC “Turkmenavtoyollary" completed the design of another road bridge across Garabogaz Bay with a length of 354 meters and a width of 17 meters, which will provide four-lane traffic (two lanes in each direction) on the Turkmenbashi-Garabogaz-Kazakhstan border. The new highway will be a continuation of the Ashgabat-Turkmenbashi road, which will allow increasing the traffic flow and increasing the volume of trade between neighboring countries.

In addition to the highways Turkmenbashi - Farab, Ashkhabad - Dashoguz, Turkmenbashi - Garabogaz – Kazakhstan is planned the construction of regional highways Turkmenabat - Dashoguz and Mary - Serhetabat.

The construction of international roads and bridges is important in the context of increasing the country's transport and logistics capabilities. The Ashgabat-Turkmenbashi and Ashgabat-Turkmenabat autobahns will meet the high requirements. They will expand the international transit and transport infrastructure, will increase the trade turnover between neighboring countries, the volume of export of goods. High-speed highways will provide quick access to neighboring countries, and through them - access to the existing extensive system of roads, extending to the Asia-Pacific region. At the same time, the Ashgabat-Turkmenbashi highway will connect with the Turkmenbashi international seaport. Thus, a new transport artery will appear in Turkmenistan, which will optimize the delivery of goods.
