Weightlifter from Armenia Simon Martirosyan became the leaders and world champion in the amount of disciplines in men’s weight category up to 109 kg, having lifted 435 kg in total and set new world record. He achieved this result, having lifted 195 in the snatch where he was the second and owing to total victory in the clean-and-jerk where he took over the nearest opponent by 12 kg, having lifted 240 kg and set the world record.

Zhe Yang from China was the second in total. He won in the first discipline but was only the fourth in the clean-and-jerk. Polish sportsman Arkadiusz Michalski won the bronze in total due to good performance in the clean-and-jerk where he was the second with 228 kg. This result compensated his failure in the snatch where he was on the 15th position.

Sportsman from Russian Federation Rodion Bochkov won the bronze in the snatch. Rruslan Nurudinov from Uzbekistan was the third in the clean-and-jerk.
