Sayuti Yahaya Iddi Accredited as Ambassador of Ghana to Turkmenistan

On instructions from President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Mejlis Chairperson G. Mammedova has accepted credentials from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Ghana to Turkmenistan Sayuti Yahaya Iddi.

On behalf of the head of state, the Speaker of the national parliament congratulated the guest on his appointment to the responsible diplomatic post, and wished him success in enhancing the friendly relations and cooperation between the two nations.

After thanking for the warm reception, the diplomat, in his turn, passed on warm wishes to the Turkmen leader for friendly Turkmenistan’s further progress and prosperity from the leadership of the Republic of Ghana, and assured that he would make the best use of his experience and knowledge to boost the bilateral cooperation for the benefit of the two countries.

The ambassador noted that President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov’s open-door policy, his peacemaking and creative initiatives on global security, stability and sustainable development, had won high praise in Ghana.

Priority trends of foreign and home policy, pursued by the nation’s leader, were key issues discussed during the meeting, which reflected Turkmenistan’s commitment to broad international cooperation, including in the context of expanding relations with the African Union, North and West African countries.

In this regard, the diplomat emphasized that he feels honored to represent his country in Turkmenistan, the state, which is known for its peace-making efforts and has achieved impressive progress in its political, socio-economic and cultural development.

During the meeting, the parties pointed out the importance of strengthening interstate dialogue between the friendly countries both bilaterally and through reputable international organizations, first of all, the United Nations.

Prospects of interparliamentary cooperation received special emphasis during the discussion.

Today, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Ghana has been received at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss prospects of partnership between the two countries in different areas.
