President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors and the Chairman of the Management Committee (CEO) of Russian Public Joint Stock Company Gazprom Alexey Miller.

Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to discuss the important issues of cooperation during a personal meeting, the guest reaffirmed the interest of the large Russian energy company in developing cooperation with our country.

Underlining that enhancement of mutually beneficial business relations with foreign partners stands as a key vector for the modernization and development of the national fuel and energy complex, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed satisfaction with the traditionally friendly, constructive character of the Turkmen-Russian relations. This creates the favourable conditions for the development of bilateral relation, including in the strategic for the both countries fuel and energy sector.

During the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan and Gazprom CEO exchanged the views on the prospects of cooperation, given the existing long-term experience and strong potential. In this context, the parties discussed the issues on resuming the purchase of Turkmen gas by the Russian holding based on the current intergovernmental Agreement between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation on cooperation in the gas sphere till 2028.

It was emphasized that the reformatory programmes implemented in our country with the aim to diversify the national economy, as well as the large infrastructural projects of the regional and international significance opened up wide opportunities for successful cooperation.

In this regard, the parties placed particular attention to the development of the gas and chemical industry with the focus on the production of high-quality competitive products that are of great demand on the world market. It was also underlined the prospects of partnership in such spheres as the introduction of the most advanced scientific and technological achievements and provision of the oil and gas complex with the state-of-the-art equipment.

In conclusion of the meeting, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and his guest reaffirmed the willingness of Turkmenistan and PJSC Gazprom to develop the mutually beneficial long-term cooperation.
