Specialists of French Bouygues developed the constructions of slabs of multi-storey building, which is under construction in Ashgabat from prestressed reinforced concrete. During its production, the rebar from high-tensile steel is stretched by special device and filed with concrete mixture.

This construction material resistant to tensile strength allows covering big spans of buildings, has improved fracture resistance and reduces labour input two times.

For the first time, the construction from prestressed reinforced concrete was used for slabs of 15-storey block A of fashionable hotel, which construction is carried out by Bouygues Turkmen on Chandybil Avenue.

Head of design office, post-seismic issues inspector engineer Eric Pesina explained that slabs become thinner when using this material, hence seismic load is reduced and strength of the building is increased. Consumption of the material comparing with regular reinforced concrete is also reduced. At the same time, prestressed reinforced concrete elements become completely self-bearing within three days. At this stage, their formwork can be taken off and used in the next section of building, which increases construction rate.

Due to technological and economic advantages, the development of French specialists can be successfully used in future construction projects in Turkmenistan.
