The 10th meeting of the Joint Turkmen-Austrian Commission was held in Vienna on June 13-14. Chairperson of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, Orazmyrat Gurbannazarov headed the delegation of Turkmenistan, and Director General for Foreign Economic Relations of the Federal Ministry of Digital and Economic Affairs of Austria Franz Wessig – led the delegation of Austria.

The agenda of the meeting included a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation. During the meeting, the representatives of the business circles of Turkmenistan and Austria exchanged views on the status and prospects for the development of trade and economic relations between the two countries. The key areas for cooperation between the two states include the digitalization of economy; industry, transport, communications; construction; health care and medical industry; energy and environmental projects; agro-industrial complex; banking sphere; tourism and culture.

A Turkmen-Austrian business forum organized by the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, the Chamber of Commerce and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of our country was held in frames of meeting. The forum brought together hundreds of Turkmen and Austrian entrepreneurs. The forum provided a platform for a number of bilateral meetings and negotiations between the representatives of Austrian companies and Turkmen businessmen, on the outcomes of which a solid package of documents was signed.

During the visit to Austria, the delegation of Turkmenistan visited the factory of FHW Franz Haas Waffelmaschinen GmbH - a manufacturer of equipment for the production of various types of waffles, cookies and other confectionery products.

The next, XI meeting of the Joint Turkmen-Austrian Commission will be held in Turkmenistan in 2020.
