President of Turkmenistan focuses on important tasks

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov organized a video conference meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan.

Vice Premier, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, R. Meredov reported on the outcomes of the working visit of the delegation of Turkmenistan to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.

In order to discuss the priority areas of interstate cooperation, on June 16-17, the delegation of our country visited the city of Herat. A number of bilateral meetings, including negotiations on the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline, power transmission lines and fiber-optic system along the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan route took place during the visit.

In addition, in order to develop cooperation in the transport sector, the meeting participants discussed a number of issues related to the implementation of the railway projects Akina-Andkhoi, Turgundi-Herat. Relevant proposals were also considered in the context of enhancing cooperation in the gas sphere.

As a new vector of partnership, the possibilities of exporting products, manufactured by the Ministry of Textile Industry from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan were discussed.

The members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan held talks with the representatives of the Chamber of Commerce of Herat Province to exchange views on the further enhancement of bilateral economic cooperation.

During the meeting with the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, the projects implemented in order to build up the interstate economic partnership were considered.

Commenting on the report, The President of Turkmenistan underlined that cooperation between Turkmenistan and Afghanistan is built on a good-neighborly, mutually respectful basis. Our countries also successfully cooperate in the foreign policy sphere in frames of authoritative international and regional organizations and structures, and first of all, the UN.

The President emphasized the importance to intensify the work of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Afghan Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, M. Meredov reported on the progress of work on the introduction of modern digital technologies in the oil and gas sector.

The instructed the Vice Premier to pay particular importance to training of highly-qualified specialists in this area.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Ch. Purchekov reported on the further strengthening of the material and technical base of the electric power industry, as well as on the measures taken to implement the project on creation of ring power system in the country.

The Deputy Prime Minister reported on the progress of work on laying high-voltage power lines along the Ahal-Balkan and Balkan-Dashoguz routes.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, M. Chakyyev reported on the purchase of KAMAZ vehicles and special equipment. It was reported that it is planned to purchase about 2,000 units of KAMAZ equipment.

Commenting on the report, the President of Turkmenistan expressed satisfaction with the progressive, fruitful character of cooperation with the Republic of Tatarstan.

Confirming the intention to strengthen cooperation with KAMAZ in the future, the President of Turkmenistan signed the relevant Resolution, sending it to the Deputy Prime Minister through the digital electronic document flow system.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Ch. Gylydjov reported on the progress of work on the support of small and medium enterprises in Turkmenistan and presented the draft plan of regular activities to encourage the development of the private sector and increase its share in the national economy for review.

Commenting on the report, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused on the importance to advance the process of digitalization in business environment.

Vice Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers P. Agamyradov reported on preparations for the International Exhibition and Scientific Conference "Health-2019". The forum that is traditionally held to mark the Day of Healthcare and Medical Industry is scheduled for July 20-22.

The Deputy Prime Minister informed President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on drafting the Resolution on the purchase of computers by the Ministry of Education, which will be presented to first-graders on behalf of the head of state.

Signing the Resolution on the purchase of computers for first grade students by the Ministry of Education, the President of Turkmenistan sent it to the Vice Premier through the digital electronic document flow system.

Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, B. Abdyeva reported on the programme of events to be arranged in frames of the Week of Culture in Balkan Velayat, and submitted the draft document on holding the 2020 Week of Culture in Dashoguz Velayat to the President of Turkmenistan for consideration.

Signing the Resolution on holding the 2020 Week of Culture in Dashoguz Velayat, the President of Turkmenistan sent it to the Vice Premier through the digital electronic document flow system.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, E. Orazgeldyyev reported on the progress of the implementation of agricultural reforms and campaigns in the regions of the country.

Commenting on the report, the President of Turkmenistan instructed the relevant officials to keep the wheat harvesting campaign, water management and cotton campaign under strict control.

Chairperson of the Mejlis, G. Mammedova informed the President of Turkmenistan on the work of the Parliament on the modernization of the national legal framework.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the improvement of the legal framework was an integral factor in the progressive development of our state.

During the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan focused attention on a number of important issues.

In conclusion of the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan wished the conference participants good health, wellbeing and success in their work.
