Speaking from the rostrum of the Baku Summit of Heads of State or Government of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), the President of Turkmenistan expressed gratitude to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev for organizing the meeting, hospitality and cordiality, the atmosphere of cooperation and constructive dialogue.

The Turkmen leader noted that since the previous Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement in Venezuela, serious changes had taken place in the world, new trends in international politics had appeared, alternative geopolitical and geoeconomic alignments had arisen. All this requires a serious understanding of the current situation and the development of adequate approaches and solutions.

Today, the member states of the Non-Aligned Movement need consolidated and concentrated efforts to achieve the main goal – preserve and maintain global peace, strategic stability and security.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that Turkmenistan strongly believed that despite all the threats and challenges of recent times, together we were able to find effective tools to counter them, and the Non-Aligned Movement played a special role in this regard.
