After the official greeting ceremony of the distinguished guest, the President of Turkmenistan and Prime Minister of Malaysia held talks in one-on-one format.

Expressing the mutual belief that the talks in Ashgabat will promote the interstate dialogue, , the President of Turkmenistan and Prime Minister of Malaysia exchanged views on bilateral cooperation and discussed important issues of the international agenda.

Speaking about the solid potential for the diversification of cooperation in various spheres, the parties focused on the opportunities for building up partnership in trade and economic sphere.

Speaking about the trends of development of the fuel and energy sphere, the President of Turkmenistan and his guest discussed the issues of cooperation in this strategic for the economies of the two states sector. In this regard, it was underlined the successful work of Petronas Company that for many years has worked in the oil and gas sphere of Turkmenistan and trains Turkmen specialists.

The President of Turkmenistan underlined the rich experience of this company that develops hydrocarbon resources on the Caspian shelf.

Expressing satisfaction with the positive dynamics of the bilateral trade relations and potential for increasing the mutual trade turnover, the Prime Minister of Malaysia expressed belief that the Turkmen-Malaysian dialogue would continue developing.

The distinguished guest noted that Turkmen students, getting education in the higher educational institutions of Malaysia, would become a bridge, connecting the two countries, and emphasized that the number of Turkmen students in Malaysia would significantly increase.

The Prime Minister invited President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to pay a visit to Malaysia.

The Turkmen leader and distinguished guest exchanged views on the prospects of the interstate dialogue in the humanitarian sphere, in particular in the areas of education, science and culture.

The President of Turkmenistan expressed satisfaction with the fruitful cooperation between our countries in frames of various international organizations, including the UN, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Non-Alignment Movement.

Discussing the world development issues, the parties focused on the significance of taking the balanced approach to address the important regional and global problems, emphasizing the importance of the economic and political integration.
