The exposition of Turkmen painters’ works, dedicated to the International day of Neutrality, opened at St. Petersburg House of Nationalities on December 6. The exposition reflects the rich stylistic palette of the national culture that harmoniously combines traditions and innovations.

The event is organized by the department of the Humanitarian Association of World Turkmens – the Society for Turkmen Culture in St. Petersburg “Mekan” jointly with St. Petersburg House of Nationalities with the support of the Committee for International Relations and implementation of the migration policy in St. Petersburg.

The government officials, leaders of national and cultural associations in the city, teachers and students of higher educational institutions in St. Petersburg attended the ceremony.

The certificate of gratitude for the longstanding contribution to the development of the dialogue of cultures was awarded to Director of St. Petersburg House of Nationalities, Elena Kuznetsova on behalf of the Society for Turkmen Culture in St. Petersburg “Mekan”. The representatives of St. Petersburg administration highly evaluated the significant work, carried out by the public organization to popularize the history and modern achievements of the Turkmen people.

Speaking during the event, the guests of honour – the representatives of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University and St. Petersburg State Agrarian University noted that Turkmen students took an active part in the cultural life of St. Petersburg, promoting the values ​​of the Turkmen culture.

The exhibition, arranged in the Green Hall of the House of Nationalities, showcases paintings, works of decorative and applied art and books on the cultural heritage and traditions of the Turkmen people, as well as significant events in the country's recent history.

Activists of the Bagtyyarlyk Council of Turkmen Students performed a kushdepi dance. Upon conclusion of the solemn ceremony, all those present were treated with the dishes of the national cuisine.
