Regular season of production of licorice root has started in Amudarya floodplain as spring came. Using relative equipment, production teams of Turkmenabat Agricultural Complex Buyan have started production of valuable raw material as the licorice plantations on left and right banks of the river.

It is planned to increase production volumes of valuable healing raw material and hence, refined pressed roots and its derivatives for export this year. Big demand in the world market is provided by the fact that the licorice contains big number of biologically active substances and is compared with ginseng root by its healthy benefits.

Modern plant for processing of root into dry licorice extract has bene opened in Turkmenabat in 2008. It provided the growth of export of Turkmen licorice.

Licorice root and its extracts are on high demand on foreign market, which is indicated by the outcomes of exchange trades. China, Russia, USA, France, Great Britain, India, Serbia, UAE, South Korea are among the countries importing licorice from our country.
