The State Museum of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan is currently running an exhibition to mark Science Day which is observed in the country on June 12.

The celebratory exhibition that consists of several sections reflects different aspects of scientific development in the country and offers a retrospective analysis of its key stages, giving visitors a clear picture of the massive achievements of today.

A portrait gallery of eminent Turkmen scientists specializing in archeology, ethnography, philology, geology, biology, paleontology, etc. is a big draw for visitors. Exhibits from museum collections featuring different areas of research shed light on their multi-faceted activities. On display are ceramic containers, architectural fragments, fossils, minerals, taxidermied animals, herbaria, rare tools and equipment.

A book section boasts special editions, monographs, methodology and educational books. Famous paintings by Turkmen artists, arts and crafts are on view in an art section.

On the exhibition’s opening day young researchers and innovators – students of the capital’s higher education institutions – had an opportunity to converse with prominent figures in academic and applied sciences, authors of novel solutions, technological innovation developers, environmentalists, culture experts, archeologists, and ethnographers.
