The State Secretary of United States of America and Foreign Ministers of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Republic of Kyrgyzstan, Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan took part in the session.
The participants have reviewed cooperation in political and diplomatic sphere, discussed the main aspects of trade and economic cooperation. Regulation of situation in Afghanistan and development of joint mechanisms for expansion of cooperation in different spheres were among the main subjects of discussion.
Making speech at the ministerial meeting, the Vice-premier, Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov has stated the position of Turkmenistan for Afghan problems. The Minister highlighted that Turkmen side supports cooperation in multilateral formats aimed at strengthening of political, social and economic life in neighbouring country by peaceful method and is willing to implement necessary political and diplomatic potential of the country in this regard. In this context, the importance of use of the UN platform has been noted.
Opportunities of increment of mutual investments, infrastructural, transport and communication, social and energy projects of regional significance have been discussed at the meeting. The sides have exchange the opinions on strengthening of cooperation in health protection, energy, transport environmental protection spheres.
