Dear scientists!
Ladies and gentlemen!

I would like to congratulate You heartily on the opening of the International Conference ‘Magtymguly Pyragy and the Turkmen Nation’s State Sovereignty Doctrine’ organized to mark Cultural and Art Workers and Magtymguly Pyragy’s Poetry Day.

I am confident that this year designated as ‘Turkmenistan: the Land of Peace and Trust’, the International Conference bringing together scientists, educators and creative professionals from America, Europe and Asia will be successful and rewarding, and will contribute significantly to building a closer collaboration to explore the exemplary life of Magtymguly Pyragy, who is known worldwide for his marvelous poems, and the rich and precious literary legacy that is now an integral part of treasures of world literature, as well as the principles of the Turkmen people’s statehood!

Magtymguly Pyragy is the shining star of classical literature, the golden age of Turkmen poetry. The wise poet is rightly regarded as one of the most important pillars of national literature of the Turkmen people who are known for their good-natured amiability, peace-loving spirit, openness, benevolence and generosity.

Magtymguly Pyragy was the great thinker, whose fine, profound and meaningful poems made the great contribution and added to the vast treasure troves of national and world literature. Magtymguly’s poetry that deservedly took its place among the works by classical poets of Oriental literature, such as Firdousi, Rumi, Nizami, Fizuli, Rudaki, and Navoi, is the fount of wisdom and sound judgment and the world of humanistic principles for all humanity.

Magtymguly Pyragy’s fine poems, seen as the Turkmen nation’s guiding philosophy of life, his views, precepts and principles, making a positive effect on minds, hearts and feelings of millions of people have become today the true essence of courage and selflessness.

The great poet’s collected works, which are an integral part of the treasures of world civilization, have been translated into many different languages. Conferences, exhibitions and other events take place in scores of foreign countries on the occasion of Magtymguly Pyragy’s Day.

Monuments to the poet erected in the Stavropol Krai and the Astrakhan Region of the Russian Federation, Kiev (Ukraine), Ankara (Republic of Turkey), Tashkent and Khiva (Republic of Uzbekistan) stand as eloquent testimony to the keen and abiding interest of the close and distant neighbors in the rich legacy of the Turkmen nation’s classical poet.

In 2024, we will be celebrating the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Pyragy’s birth internationally. This provides a vivid illustration of the fact that the great poet’s poetry finds an echo in people’s minds, and touches a responsive chord in their hearts. It is infinitely precious to generations and serves as a guiding life principle.

Dear scientists!

Magtymguly Pyragy’s humanistic views on his native land and society, his valuable lessons about national unity, and his dream of building an independent and unified Turkmen state shared by other Turkmen classical poets, such as Mammetveli Kemine, Gurbandurdy Zelili, Seiitnazar Seidi, Abdysetdar Kazy, have seen the worthy continuation.

Magtymguly’s valuable words of wisdom and principles of national sovereignty have provided a solid foundation for the state policy in the epoch of power and happiness.

We are offering ample opportunities for other nations to gain insights into our national traditions and customs, culture, literature, and principles of statehood enshrined in the inviolable doctrine, and making every effort to strengthen relations between countries and nations in the fields of science, education and culture.

We will do our best to continue and extensively support the efforts in this area to explore and promote the invaluable legacy of Turkmen poets and thinkers worldwide. This will add new texture and substance to humanistic relations based on the principles of friendship and good will.
