The adoption of state-of-the-art digital technologies in different spheres of state and public life is at the heart of the comprehensives reforms ongoing in our country.

Representatives of the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics of Turkmenistan are actively contributing to projects aimed to foster digital transformation in the country. Established in June of 2019 on the initiative of the nation’s leader, the capital’s higher education institution has been successfully training specialists in information, telecommunications and smart system management, digital technology, electronics, and innovative technology, among others.

Teachers and students of the recently founded institution have been cleverly designing and successfully implementing their digital projects. Over the two years, quite a number of different projects have been developed and brought to life. Special mention must be made of the Smart Home Project designed with the participation of members of the institution’s Council of Young Scientists for residential buildings being built as part of the 16th stage of the Ashgabat Redevelopment Program. The positive and worthwhile initiative has added much to the comfort and convenience of residents of the new luxury apartments.

Specialists and students of the Institute are now engaged in developing digital solutions for the modern Ashgabat City megaproject. They are also making efforts to make lives of future dwellers easier and safer and the operation of administrative and public institutions smoother and more efficient.

Innovative projects are being designed in the institution’s experimental classrooms and workshops. Created at the Institute, the first IT-platform in the country provides fertile ground for these activities as well. Projects in the fields of software and website development, designing educational programs for domestic organizations and agencies, and providing support services to local private enterprises are in active preparation here. In the context of developing digital education, massive efforts are being made to promote and take advantage of remote teaching and learning.

The Institute’s online portal «Education» features an easy-to-use electronic library allowing budding specialists to gain quick and ready access to specialized information resources, including multimedia files, technical drawings, and sketches that is everything needed for effective learning, practical training and working on projects.

The higher education institution boasts 5 departments and 21 areas of academic specialization, training highly qualified specialists in the following fields: «Secure Electronic Systems», «Industrial Electronics», «Information Systems and Technology», «Software Engineering», «Information Security», «Computer Systems Software Support», and «Business Informatics». The Institute offers the Bachelor’s degree program in «Applied Informatics».
