The Republic of Tatarstan (Russian Federation) will host the 12th International Economic Summit ‘Russia - Islamic World: Kazan 2021, the organizers’ website informs.
The Russia - Islamic World: Kazan Summit 2021 will bring together representatives from 48 countries, including Turkmenistan.
Consul General of Turkmenistan in Kazan Atadurdy Bayramov is expected to speak at the thematic session entitled ‘Time for Diplomacy. Opening Ceremony of the 5th Forum of Young Diplomats from the OIC Countries’ on the first day of the Summit
The forum will be held in hybrid virtual and in-person formats. Representatives from 48 countries and 25 regions of Russia will participate in 90 thematic in-person sessions. Ambassadors and consuls general from 32 foreign diplomatic missions are expected to attend the Summit.
All necessary health and safety precautions will be taken to provide a safe environment for those attending the Summit.
The Summit will assemble representatives of international organizations, public and financial organizations, embassy officials, politicians, investors and entrepreneurs.
The event aims to strengthen trade-economic, scientific-technical, social and cultural ties between Russia and member-countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and to promote Islamic financial institutions in the Russian Federation.
Conscious consumption will be at the core of the Kazan Summit 2021.
The Summit’s key themes will include: partnership finance, the halal industry, youth diplomacy, medicine, sport, the creative industries, export development, business and investment.
Commenting on the event, Talia Minullina, head of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency has said that the Kazan Summit revises and expands its agenda every year. The interaction with the Islamic world is a promising investment direction for the Russian Federation, she said.
The Russia Halal Expo and the Machine Building Cluster Forum will be hosted on the sidelines of the Summit organized under the patronage of the top leadership of Tatarstan.
In addition, the Young Entrepreneurs Forum and the Young Diplomats Forum of the OIC Countries, a Sbertalk event aiming to promote Islamic financial instruments under the sponsorship of the Sberbank, and a fashion show called ‘Modest Fashion’ will be also held as part of the Summit.
The Kazan Summit 2019 was attended by delegates from 72 countries.
The annual International Economic Summit of Russia and the OIC member countries is held with the assistance of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation and the government of the Republic of Tatarstan.
