The first products were laid on the machines of the new enterprise of artistic carpet weaving, built in the city of Gubadag by order of the Dashoguz enterprise of artistic carpet weaving of the State Association "Turkmenhaly". The basis of carpet canvases was formed by ancient ornaments, such as "guşly göli", some newly restored ancient golis, and other patterns inherent in the centuries-old national art form. In the spacious, bright hall of the new building, which meets the accepted standards for lighting and other created working conditions, the craftswomen simultaneously began to weave about a hundred meters of high-quality ornamented woolen carpets of various sizes and colors.
The recently commissioned new enterprise of artistic carpet weaving is located in the central part of the administrative center of Gubadag etrap, along Azadi street. It is designed for 150 workplaces and covers an area of 0.5 hectares. A two-storey office building with a small museum of the Turkmen carpet, a production workshop, a workshop, a warehouse, a checkpoint, a boiler room, and water tanks were built here.
The Dashoguz velayat, like other regions of the country, is famous for its hand-woven high-quality ornamented woolen carpets and rugs. Today, the traditions of national art are enriched with new forms and means of artistic embodiment. Craftswomen, continuing the traditions and strictly observing the basic canons of national carpet weaving, at the same time creatively approach the choice of means of artistic embodiment of their works, combining different carpet elements and colors of canvases in a new way.
