Speaking during the third Consultative Meeting of the Heads of Central Asian States held in the Avaza National Tourist Zone, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov emphasized that Turkmenistan was ready to significantly increase the supply of natural gas and electricity to Central Asia and beyond.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan noted that when discussing cooperation of the countries of the region in the energy sector, the Turkmen side declared its readiness to significantly increase the volume of natural gas supplies from Turkmenistan to the countries of Central Asia, or through their territories to foreign markets, on mutually beneficial terms.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan also underlined that the capacities available in the country made it possible to significantly increase supplies of electricity to the states of Central Asia.
According to R. Meredov, the maximum realization of the natural and raw material potential of the Central Asian region and the advantages of its geographical location requires the creation of a powerful energy infrastructure - both within the region and along its exterior perimeter.
