Festival organized by the Ministry of Culture within the framework of the Year of honoring the heritage, reformation of Motherland is devoted to the International Holiday Nowruz.
During centuries, Turkmen women have created and saved in memory the songs, exciting the heart and touching the most delicate strings of the soul. Among people, it is called lyale. These are septisyllabic and octosyllabic quatrains composed in the form of Rubai. How many of them have been performed since time immemorial, sung in moment of happiness and sorrow, in anticipation of beloved, and over the cradle of child, in a circle of friends and alone! They reflect the soul and fate of the Turkmen women, history of her life and love, her hopes and dreams.
The cultural event was held in a picturesque gorge on the outskirts of the capital. Both the professional folklore and amateur groups of Turkmenistan arrive for the festival. All performances differed with candor and melodic filigree in expression of the sound, as well as touching and careful attitude to traditions. Silver chime of girlish voices are harmoniously blended with the picturesque beauty of Kopetdagh foothills, captivated listeners by high mastery and sincerity of performance.
The festival has demonstrated whole stylistic diversity of the art of performance of girlish songs. Dodaklyale is performed by girls, lightly tapping the lower lip, bokurdaklyale - tapping with index finger on throat, hymmyllyale - accompanied by the movement of the shoulders, eneklyale – by rhythmic swipe of right hand.
Language of old songs touches by its sincerity and full of girlish dreams about love and happiness. As time goes forward, the new songs appear in tune with epoch. Now, lines of lyale sound in a modern interpretation, finding the second birth and enriching contemporary art with incorruptible motives of Turkmen spirituality.
