Prime Minister of Japan Yoshihide Suga congratulated President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the success of the Turkmen national team in the Tokyo Olympic Games.

«Recently, I have received the message of your Excellency from Deputy Chairman Mr. Serdar Berdimuhamedov who took part in the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Tokyo. I would like to express to your Excellency my deep gratitude for the rendered care and attention. Allow me to congratulate from the bottom of my heart you on the successes of the national team of Turkmenistan in the Olympic Games in Tokyo, in particular, with the first medal of the Olympic Games in weightlifting among women in the history of your country», - the message of the Japanese Prime Minister to the Turkmen leader reads.

Yoshihide Suga noted that in recent years relations between Japan and Turkmenistan dynamically develop, and welcomed appointment of Deputy Chairman Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the post of co-chairman of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Japanese committee on economic cooperation from the Turkmen party. The head of the Japanese government, thereupon, expressed belief that the partnership between two countries in the economic sphere will extend further.

Yoshihide Suga also congratulated the president of Turkmenistan on the successful completion of the building of the gas turbine power station in Charjev district with participation of the Japanese company.

«Next year 30 years will become for the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Turkmenistan. I will further make efforts together with your Excellency on development of bilateral interaction in wide aspects. Besides, I intend to continue cooperation within the Dialogue «Central Asia + Japan » with a view of sustainable development of free and open Central Asia», - the Prime Minister of Japan underlined in his message.
