Today President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has taken part in the solemn opening ceremony of the Ashkhabad-Tejen section of Ashkhabad-Turkmenabad high-speed highway.

Builders of closed joint-stock company «Turkmen Awtoban» have commissioned the site in the planned terms. In January, they promised the head of the state, during his inspection tour of the course of work, to commission the site by the end of the year.

This joyful event of this jubilee year for Turkmenistan speaks of the next evidence of successful implementation of tasks in view on full involvement of geo-economic potential of our Fatherland at the expense of creation of perspective transport-transit corridors.

As known, the construction of the autobahn with a length of 600 kilometres started on January 24, 2019. The commissioning of the new highway will allow raising considerably throughput of the road system of the country, quality and efficiency of logistical services, to expand the international transport-logistical infrastructure and trade and economic relations with the neighbouring countries. In the long term, the autobahn, connecting with "Ashkhabad-Turkmenbashi" highway, will allow to expand the geography of deliveries by seaway to the Caucasian region, to Europe, Russia and the countries of the Persian Gulf.
