Within the framework of the United Nations Development Program project “Sustainable Cities in Turkmenistan: Comprehensive Development of Green Cities in Ashgabat and Avaza”, the Plan for the development of a modern system of the ecological state of the Turkmen capital is being developed and implemented.
For this purpose, special laboratory equipment was purchased to control the state of environmental pollution in Ashgabat. In the process of observation, changes occurring in the ecosystem are recorded, and based on the results of monitoring, an analysis of their causes, including the role of anthropogenic influence, is carried out.
Currently, when assessing the state of the environment, in particular, mobile sources of emissions into the atmosphere, water pollution, emissions from industrial enterprises, as well as greenhouse gases, specialists from chemical laboratories of the Environmental Control Service use new efficient instruments.
Indeed, in order to obtain objective information about the state and level of pollution of various environmental objects, it is necessary to have reliable means and methods of environmental control, automation and optimization of technical means of control.
The project “Sustainable Cities in Turkmenistan: Integrated Development of Green Cities in Ashgabat and Avaza” sets the following goals to achieve sustainable urban development in Ashgabat, in particular, the implementation of energy-efficient street lighting, the introduction sustainable solutions for urban transport, waste reduction.
