Local farmers will start sowing spring onions

Significantly more than last year in Dashoguz velayat, the land area allocated for spring onions has more than doubled compared to last year. Now in all etraps of the northern region of the country, complex work is being completed to prepare the land for the upcoming planting of crops. As noted at the working meeting on the digital system held by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on February 16, local farmers will start sowing spring onions on February 25.

The largest producers of spring planting onions in the velayat will be the etraps named after Gurbansoltan-eje and named after S.A. Niyazov, where they respectively will be placed on five hundred and fifty (550) and four hundred and ninety (490) hectares. Significantly more than last year, spring onions will be grown in the S. Turkmenbashi etrap, Koneurgench and Akdepe etraps and others. Thanks to the availability of a park of the necessary specialized equipment and the accumulated experience in cultivating the crop, the farmers of the Dashoguz velayat are scheduled to conduct a responsible campaign at a qualitative level within the scheduled time frame. It should be noted that in last years, due to the use of the most advanced methods of crop cultivation, the rational use of water and land resources, the timely implementation of the necessary agrotechnical measures, choosing varieties already adapted to the soil and climatic conditions of the region and characterized by high winter hardiness and early ripening as planting material, local farmers manage to achieve stable high yields of onions and achieve good yields.

It should be reminded that mass planting of autumn onions will again be carried out in the region this year, and the cultivation of winter onions has been successfully practiced here in recent years. Such works contribute to the saturation of the consumer market with high-quality domestic food products and allows them to consistently maintain affordable prices.
