In the structure of the Ministry of Education of the country, the capital's Center for Access to Information has launched its activities. It was created on the basis of the Innovation and Information Center located on the territory of the National Institute of Education of Turkmenistan.
The center, equipped with the latest technology, is designed to promote the technological and innovative development of the digital educational system of our country, improve digital services in the field of education, and create a modern electronic educational and methodological base necessary for all levels of education.
The structure of the Center includes a number of target audiences, three of which are educational. The purpose of one of them is the creation of modern educational content. Another audience is a project platform for the preparation of multimedia educational content: animated digital materials, lessons in 3D format using VR (virtual reality) technology. 3D models are also prepared here for printing visual materials that are in demand in education, as well as various models on a 3D printer.
Further, a significant number of portals created by the Ministry of Education of the country and its subordinate structures are concentrated in the server room of the Center. In three classrooms of this department, the educational process has been established in all areas in the field of IT technologies (cybersecurity, digital economy, electronic document management system, programming, etc.). The monitoring center located here is designed to support the reliable operation of information and educational systems operating on servers.
As part of the Center’s activities, the improvement of digital infrastructure systems for holding online olympiads “Zehin” (zehin.edu.tm), automated management of educational processes “E-mekdep” (mekdep.edu.tm), “E-uniwersitet” and “E -dekanat", electronic library (kitaphana.edu.tm), unified vocational training portal (nesil.edu.tm), registration of a child in a secondary school (ýazgy.nesil.edu.tm), electronic document management "E-Resminama", educational video hosting (ukyply.nesil.edu.tm), etc.
The work of the Center, among other things, is aimed at improving the literacy of the target audience in terms of web design and programming by providing access to electronic educational resources. In this regard, work is underway to prepare various kinds of educational content, in particular, video and audio lessons.
It should be recalled that proposals to establish an Information Access Center were made during a meeting of the Government of Turkmenistan at the end of October last year. The initiative to organize an Information Access Center equipped with modern communication technology, computer equipment, necessary servers, network and software products to create an innovative digital infrastructure in the field of education was supported by the Ministry of Science and Information and Communication Technologies of the Republic of Korea. The solemn opening ceremony of the new Center in Ashgabat took place in February this year.
