In the capital of Uzbekistan on Tuesday, July 12, an international conference was held on the topic “Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. Prospects for development at a new historical stage of interaction”.

The event is hosted by the International Institute of Central Asia (ICA), whose specialists, with the support of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, organized this forum.

The conference was attended by leaders and leading experts of state and analytical structures of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. Among the speakers were representatives of the ministries of foreign affairs of both countries, the legislative chamber of the Oliy Majlis, MICA, the Magtymguly Institute of Language, Literature and National Manuscript of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, as well as other organizations. The forum was opened by the rector of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Jumamyrat Gurbangeldiyev, and the director of the ICA, Anvar Nasirov.

The conference participants discussed the current state of the Turkmen-Uzbek cooperation and exchanged views on strengthening and expanding the regional dialogue.
