Turkmen judoist Mekan Bayramov won the gold medal at the international tournament “30 Ağustos Zafer Haftası Uluslararası Valilik Kupası”, which ended in the Turkish city of Sakarya.

Our compatriot achieved this success in the 100 kg weight category, defeating Rejep Chimen (Turkey) in the final.

The competition was organized by the municipality of the city of Sakarya in honour of the centenary of the national holiday - Victory Day, which is celebrated in Turkey on August 30.

The nearest plans of Turkmen judoists include participation in the European Open Championship 2022, which will be held on September 3-4 in the Austrian city of Oberwart. It is expected that 311 athletes (204 men and 107 women) from 38 countries will compete for 14 sets of medals (in 7 men's and 7 women's weight categories) in this tournament.

The team of Turkmenistan in the open championship of Europe-2022 will be represented by 28 judoists (16 men and 12 women).
