Turkmen tennis players won the second victory at the Davis Cup zonal tournament in Isa Town (Bahrain).

In the IV group of the zone of Asia and Oceania, in which our compatriots compete, 9 teams, divided into two groups, are fighting for promotion in the class.

Seeded at the draw under the first number, the national team of Turkmenistan plays in group «A» along with the teams of Cambodia, Mongolia and Bhutan. Group «B» are: Kuwait, Singapore, Guam, Laos and Bahrain.

In the first round, the team of Turkmenistan won the debutant of the Davis Cup Bhutan - 3:0, and today with the same score it took over the team of Mongolia, which occupies the 145th place in the world tennis rating.

It is noteworthy that a year ago the teams of Turkmenistan and Mongolia already met on the Bahraini courts in the Davis Cup. And then success was also accompanied by our tennis players - 3:0.

This time, the victory of the national team of Turkmenistan over Mongolia was provided by Yuriy Rogusskiy and Meylis Orazmuhamedov. The first in the singles match beat Undrakh Purevdorj in 1 hour and 25 minutes - 6:4, 6:3, and the second beat Hatansuih Batbayar in 49 minutes - 6:1, 6:2.  In the third doubles match, which lasted 1 hour 37 minutes, Meylis Orazmuhamedov and Yuriy Rogusskiy defeated Gunburd Batjargal and Undrah Purevdorj in a tie-break in the second set - 6:4, 7:6 (7:4).

Thus, before the final round in group «A» the teams of Turkmenistan and Cambodia are in the lead, having two victories each. In a full-time duel between these teams, the fate of the winner of the group will be decided.

Remind that the winners of the groups will advance to the playoffs, the winner of which will receive the right to play in the III group of the Asia and Oceania zone next year.
