The Yyldyz hotel in the capital is hosting the International Conference «Dialogue is a Guarantee of Peace», timed to coincide with the International Day of Neutrality and the next, 27th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutral status.
Heads and representatives of authoritative international and regional organizations, government departments of the United Nations member countries, prominent public and political figures, international experts are invited to participate in the conference in a hybrid format, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country together with UN agencies.
The high-level plenary session brought together the leaders of the Mejlis and the Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh, deputy chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, heads of ministries and departments of the country, domestic and foreign diplomats - heads and representatives of diplomatic missions of Turkmenistan accredited abroad, as well as diplomatic missions of foreign states working in our country and authoritative international organizations, including the UN and its specialized structures, representatives of public organizations and the media.
Among the guests of honor of the forum are participants in international and regional events held in the Turkmen capital on the eve of a significant date, including the annual meeting of the Dialogue of Women in Central Asia.
The high level of the conference, the representative composition of its participants became another confirmation of the growing interest in modern, dynamically developing Turkmenistan, the expansion of understanding on the part of the international community of the significance and role of the legal status of neutrality as an important factor in ensuring security, stability and global sustainable development.
In all the speeches and video messages sent by the heads of organizations and structural divisions of the UN, the exceptional fruitfulness of the multi-format cooperation established between Turkmenistan and the United Nations, which has been and remains the main global platform for international cooperation on a wide range of topical issues of our time, was emphasized.
As noted, the constructive proposals and initiatives put forward by independent, neutral Turkmenistan have become an invaluable contribution to the creation of multilateral mechanisms for sustainable development and a coordinated response to the challenges of the time.
In the afternoon, the work of the forum continued within the framework of three thematic sessions, which were held in a mixed format.
Upon completion of the thematic sessions and summarizing their results, it is planned to adopt the Final Document.
