Football players of «Arkadag» have entered the quarter-finals of the Cup of Turkmenistan, having beaten the team «Energetic» from Mary following the results of two matches of the preliminary round.

In the first game, which was held in Ashgabat, «Arkadag» confidently won - 4: 0. The return match took place in Mary at the stadium «Energetics».

The home team had to score five goals in order to go to the next round, which was clearly out of reach. Moreover, the debutant of the tournament, representing the city of the same name, which is under construction 30 kilometers from the capital of Turkmenistan, was not going to sit in the defense and had already opened the account in the first half. Mekan Saparov did it in the 20th minute.

In the second half «Arkadag» had spent three more goals in the opponent’s gate. Begench Akmamedov had first scored in the 82nd minute, and then Didar Durdyev scored a double (84th and 90th minutes).

Having won the second major victory over «Energetics», and again with a score of 4:0, the players of «Arkadaga» have reached the quarter-finals of the Cup of Turkmenistan, where they will now meet with the team «Kopetdag» from Ashgabat.

Other quarter-finals will be played: «Merv» - «Ashgabat», «Akhal» - «Shaghadam» and «Altyn asyr» - «Nebitchi».

Quarter-final matches of the Cup of Turkmenistan-2023 will be held on May 9 and 20.

The semi-finals will be played on 27 May and 2 June. The date and place of the final match will be announced further.

Recall, the current owner of the Cup of Turkmenistan is «Akhal», who won in last year’s final the team «Shaghadam» from Turkmenbashi - 5: 0.
