Today, the capital of Turkmenistan hosted the next International Conference, which brought together leading specialists and experts in the oil and gas sector. The main events were held at the site of the Turkmen International University of Oil and Gas named after Yagshygeldi Kakayev.

Representatives of international organizations, scientific institutions in the oil and gas sector and experts from different regions of the world expressed their desire to participate in the conference, which was supposed to discuss topical energy problems, prospects for new technologies, as well as pressing environmental aspects of the development of hydrocarbon fields.

The host of the main plenary session, UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan D. Shlapachenko, opening the conference, briefly spoke about the importance of the event held in Ashgabat and thanked the organizers for the successful preliminary preparatory work.

The participants and guests of the forum who were present in the hall listened with great interest to the meaningful speeches of the Deputy Chairman of the SC «Turkmengaz» M. Archayev, Advisor on Climate Issues of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan M. Akmyradov, Rector of the International University of Oil and Gas named after Y. Kakayev B. Atamanov, Chairman of the Board of the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan R. Jepbarov.

Representatives of foreign companies - General Director of «PETRONAS Carigali (Turkmenistan)» Ismadi Bin Ismail, Member of the Management Board of «Yug-Neftegaz Private Limited» I. Zgurov, General Director of the Global Institute Green Growth F. Reisberman, Senior Product Manager Methane Measurement and Reduction P. Evans, and Head of the International Methane Emissions Observatory M. Caltagirone.

No less interesting and meaningful were the presentations of experts at the session discussions on the problems of «reducing methane and carbon dioxide emissions from hydrocarbon production» and «new opportunities for environmental financing and initiatives in promoting clean energy».

Separately, it is worth noting the good preparatory work, as well as directly during the conference, the work of the organizers of the event. All the necessary conditions were created for guests and experts for holding discussion events and a fruitful exchange of views on topical issues submitted for consideration by the conference.
