The football players of the youth national team of Turkmenistan (under 23) won a friendly match against the national team of China – 2:0 on the eve of the start of the qualification tournament of the Asian Cup-2024. The victory was brought to our team by accurate strikes of Meilis Durdyev (51st minute) and Nurmurad Rozyyev (71st).

The game took place in Dalian, China, where the Turkmen youth team was conducting the final stage of preparation for the qualifying matches of the Asian Cup-2024.

Our team’s opponents in the upcoming tournament of group "K", which will be held from September 6 to 12 in Surakarta, Indonesia, will be the youth teams of Taiwan and Indonesia.

Recall that 43 youth teams participate in the qualifying tournament of the Asian Cup-2024, which were divided into eleven groups based on the results of the draw. The winners of the groups, as well as the four best teams among the runners-up, will get tickets to the final part of the Asian Cup, which will be held from April 15 to May 3, 2024 in Qatar.

Turkmenistan's team was prepared for the upcoming AFC U23 Asian Cup qualification matches by a 44-year–old well-known football specialist Ahmed Agamuradov, under whose leadership the Turkmenistan national team (under 23) achieved a historic result at last year's continental championship - it entered the eight strongest youth teams in Asia.
