Cotton harvesting has started in Turkmenistan today. With the blessing of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, an important agricultural campaign was launched in Akhal, Balkan, Lebap and Mary velayats. Dashoguz region, taking into account soil and climatic conditions, will join the harvest on September 15.
In the Era of the Revival of the new epoch of a powerful state in the Homeland, the necessary conditions are being created for the fruitful work of daykhan and obtaining rich harvests. Speaking about this at the August 31 meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, the head of state emphasized the importance of carrying out the cotton harvesting season in an organized manner and within the established agro-technical deadlines and wished all agricultural workers good health and well-being.
It should be noted that cotton growing is a significant branch of the agro-industrial complex of Turkmenistan, providing a significant contribution to the implementation of national programs in the field of import substitution and increasing the export capabilities of the national economy. The natural and climatic conditions of our country are favorable for growing medium-fiber and fine-fiber varieties of cotton.
With the modern organization of production based on innovative technologies, natural cotton fiber is the most valuable raw material for the domestic textile industry, whose products are in high demand on world markets.
The potential of the agricultural sector is growing due to the implementation of reforms initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and worthily continued by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov in this area, important aspects of which are the creation of modern production and service infrastructure of agriculture, rational use of land and water resources, improving the culture of agriculture.
Significant financial resources are allocated for irrigation and reclamation of farmland, renewal of the technical park of the agro-industrial complex. For these purposes, the state regularly purchases agricultural machinery from leading world manufacturers.
In accordance with the priorities of the economic policy of the President of Turkmenistan, a course has been set for introducing digital technologies into agriculture. Along with this, much attention is paid to scientific breeding, the creation of new zoned varieties of cotton, characterized by precocity and high yield.
According to the commission of the head of state Serdar Berdimuhamedov, round-the-clock technical and service maintenance of the operated equipment has been organized in the field for the smooth operation of the cotton-harvesting conveyor, proper conditions are created for productive work and full rest of machine operators, drivers and hand cotton pickers.
Procurement points and cotton gins have been prepared for the reception of the new cotton harvest. In the laboratories located with them, specialists of the Turkmenstandardlary Main State Service will ensure a thorough quality check of incoming products.
The work of advanced tenants-cotton growers, farmers, combine harvesters and drivers in the 2023 Cotton Harvest is stimulated by the Agrarian and Democratic Parties, as well as public organizations of the country.
Today, the first caravans of trucks and tractors with trailers loaded to the top with “white gold”, decorated with State Flags, carpets and banners arrived at the reception points and cotton gins of Akhal velayat, Lebap velayat, Mary velayat and Balkan velayat.
According to a good folk tradition, the beginning of the harvest was blessed by respected elders who raised a prayer to the Almighty for the well-being and prosperity of the Homeland, the native people under the leadership of the head of state Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
Representatives of velayat and etrap khyakimliks, daykhan associations, and public organizations took part in the events on the occasion of the beginning of the harvesting campaign.
As part of the current celebrations, exhibitions of agricultural machinery, products of the agro-processing and textile industries were launched. Artists, musicians and singers, dance and folklore groups of the regions, who performed with concert programs, multiplied the festive atmosphere. Valuable gifts were presented on behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the leading cotton growers, the best cotton farmers, who grew a heavy cotton crop.
