A week-long training seminar on capacity building of the staff of the Ombudsperson’s Office of Turkmenistan on gender equality and reproductive health issues has started in Ashgabat.

The event was organized by the representative office of the United Nations Population Fund in Turkmenistan with the participation of Dr. Aysel Vazirova, UNFPA international consultant, and is aimed at fulfilling one of the priorities of the National Action Plan on Gender Equality for 2021-2025.

During the first day of the seminar, the participants discussed the achievements of the state policy of Turkmenistan on ensuring gender equality and reproductive health. Then they will get acquainted with the best foreign experience, enrich their knowledge about the means and methods of ensuring the rights of women and youth.

To get acquainted with the practical situation on the ground, it is planned to organize meetings of representatives of the Ombudsperson's Office and Dr. Aysel Vazirova in the regions of the country with representatives of state and public organizations working in the field of gender equality and reproductive health.
