National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan (NRCS) held a training and practical event dedicated to the World first aid day.

At the training site, the training participants got acquainted with the types of natural emergencies such as earthquakes, floods, steppe fires, mudflows and landslides. Studied Rules of conduct in case of emergencies, and also received practical training in provision of first aid.

To effectively consolidate acquired knowledge, employees and volunteers of the National Red Crescent Society offered participants training to perform simulation exercises, as much as possible close to real situations.

During educational and practical classes under the supervision of professionals, newly minted first aid specialists worked a set of urgent measures. These include the ability to evaluate non-standard situations, skills in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation, stopping bleeding, applying bandages to the wound, etc.

According to representatives of the Red Crescent of Turkmenistan, active providing first aid requires not only theoretical knowledge, but also constant practice. In order not to panic if you find yourself in a non-standard situation, be able to help the victims and possibly save someone’s life, basic courses are required. Therefore, training the population in techniques first aid is carried out on a regular basis.

In NOCPT there is a constant increase in experience and improvement professionalism of staff and volunteers. Organized training courses, rapid response teams are formed during emergency. In addition, summer camps are created annually, where young people and volunteers are trained as first aid instructors.

The National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan was founded on 26 March 1926. This year, held under the motto “Happy youth with Arkadag Serdar” National Society celebrates its 97th anniversary from the day of its formation. On this occasion, there are held throughout the year promotions, competitions, events with the participation of the younger generation.

According to the latest data, the NRCS has 5 velayat, 3 city, 36 etrap branches. The number of volunteers across the country is more than four thousand people.

Preparing for the centenary, the Central Office of the National Society Red Crescent of Turkmenistan together with velayat units launched a tender (competition) to create symbols for the anniversary year 2026.
