Daewoo E&C branch opened in Ashgabat

The opening of a branch of Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co. (Daewoo E&C) took place in Ashgabat. Daewoo E&C is one of the largest construction companies in the Republic of Korea, which provides a wide range of engineering and architectural-construction services in various markets. The company operates in dozens of countries and has branches in 13 countries.

The opening of the branch in Ashgabat will allow the South Korean company to strengthen its position in Turkmenistan, where it is already working on the implementation of several projects in collaboration with the State Concern "Türkmenhimiya". These projects involve the construction of ammonia, urea and phosphate fertilizer plants based on the processing of natural gas in various regions of Turkmenistan.

Daewoo E&C aims to become a reliable partner of Turkmenistan, not only in the monetization of hydrocarbon resources but also in showing interest in participating in other promising projects in the energy, transportation and infrastructure sectors. The company is considering, in particular, the possibility of participating in the second phase of the ambitious Arkadag Smart City program.

The opening ceremony of the Daewoo E&C branch took place with the participation of Baymyrat Annamammedov, the Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan for Construction, Industry and Energy, Park Jin, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, and Jung Won-ju, the Chairman of Daewoo E&C, who arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the 16th Central Asia-South Korea Cooperation Forum.
