On November 3rd, the Country Office of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) organized a training session to enhance the qualifications of journalists in covering gender-related topics in the media.

International experts from Kazakhstan were invited to participate in this trainig event: Madi Mambetov, media expert of the Central Asian Alliance to End Gender-Based Violence, and Natalya Sludskaya, the director of the communications agency "BeGlobe." Through a video conference format, the speakers provided information to journalists and bloggers about adhering to ethical norms in the media.

During the event, the reproduction of gender stereotypes in the media was discussed as one of the key obstacles to achieving gender equality and women's rights. The topic of reflecting gender aspects in the digital space was also addressed.

The goal of the training was to increase participants' awareness of gender-sensitive journalism. The event was dedicated to the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and Girls, which is annually observed on November 25th.
