Representatives of the customs departments of Turkmenistan and Iran held a meeting at the Sarakhs-Sarakhs border checkpoint. This is reported by the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.

The Iranian delegation was headed by the Deputy Head of the Customs Administration of the Islamic Republic of Iran. It also included heads of various departments, representatives of regional customs organizations and employees of the diplomatic missions of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Turkmenistan.

The first meeting was held on the Iranian side and the second on the territory of Turkmenistan. The Iranian delegation familiarized itself with the work and arrangement of the customs post "Sarakhs Avtoyollary", the condition of entry/exit halls, the work of the installation of special X-ray equipment.

The agenda of the meeting also included the issue of customs clearance of cargoes in round-the-clock mode at Sarakhs-Sarakhs checkpoints, exchange of preliminary information.

A separate meeting of the joint working group on the development of customs cooperation was also held in the building of the customs post "Sarakhs Avtoyollary".

It should be noted that earlier such meetings were held at the Gaudan-Bajgiran and Artyk-Lotfabad checkpoints, which are located on the Turkmen-Iranian border.
