Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Türkiye discussed customs cooperation

Representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Trade of Türkiye held an online meeting.

The meeting is aimed at implementing the Memorandum of Understanding between the Governments of the three countries on the creation of a Joint Advisory Group on Customs Cooperation.

The parties agreed to form a Joint Consultative Group and determined the place and time for the first meeting of the group. They also considered the prospect of mutual exchange of information about goods and vehicles moving across the customs borders of the three countries.

A Memorandum of Understanding between the Governments of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Türkiye on the establishment of a Joint Advisory Group on Customs Cooperation was signed on the 14th of December, 2022 in the city of Turkmenbashy. The document is aimed at simplifying customs procedures for the accelerated movement of goods between states, increasing trade turnover, as well as mutual exchange of information.
