Employees of the Hydrometeorological Service of Turkmenistan are mastering equipment designed to analyze water quality. Thus, specialists from the Ashgabat and velayat divisions of the Hydrometeorological Service of Turkmenistan have mastered the SEBA KLL-Checker equipment, which allows them to measure water level, its temperature, electrical conductivity, turbidity and other parameters in places where groundwater or surface water is measured.

The training was conducted within the framework of the project «Development of the national adaptation planning process in Turkmenistan», which is implemented by the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program. The event is aimed at increasing the capacity of representatives of the Hydrometeorological Service of Turkmenistan in conducting environmental monitoring in the country.

The project aims to develop national coordination mechanisms and governance processes, and strengthen the evidence base in the water sector to provide the information needed for effective decision-making.
