A round table was held in Turkmenistan as part of improving the system of national accounts.

The event was held in order to implement the project «Strengthening the institutional, statistical and information technology capacity of the State Committee of Turkmenistan on Statistics», which is being implemented by the State Committee of Turkmenistan on Statistics jointly by the United Nations Development Program.

Roundtable participants familiarized themselves with the results of a sample survey conducted in 2022 to compile supply and use tables. These tables comprehensively characterize the structure of the economy broken down into individual sectors. In particular, international UNDP expert Natalya Ustinova presented a methodology for surveying the costs of production and sales of products.

Tables on the supply and use of goods and services are part of the System of National Accounts. They represent an integrated system of macroeconomic indicators.
