The UN General Assembly, at the initiative of Turkmenistan, adopted resolutions on energy and transport

The UN General Assembly at the 49th plenary meeting of the 78th session, at the initiative of Turkmenistan, unanimously adopted two resolutions - on energy and transport. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports this.

According to the release, it co-sponsored the resolution «The Key Role of Reliable and Stable Energy Connectivity in Ensuring Sustainable Development», 38 states spoke.

The resolution calls for continued international cooperation to ensure the reliability and stability of energy connectivity at the national, regional and global levels in order to promote economic integration and sustainable development, in particular in the area of sustainable development to ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy sources for everyone.

Another resolution, «Strengthening connections between all modes of transport to achieve sustainable development goals», was co-sponsored by 47 states.

This resolution calls on Member States to support the continued operation and strengthening of the transport system and transport infrastructure in all relevant aspects necessary for sustainable development.

It should be noted that on the 19th of September, 2023, in his speech at the plenary session of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov put forward a number of relevant initiatives, including in the field of energy and transport.
