On January 4 this year, the State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan, with the support of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), began the seventh round of Multi Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) data collection.
The Multi Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) is an international household survey program developed by UNICEF. The survey is conducted to collect key indicators that are used to assess the situation of children and women.
Specially trained field teams will visit 6,800 selected households across the country. The survey will be conducted until April 2024. The survey questionnaires include topics on health, nutrition, education and social protection.
Such events serve as an important source of data about the socio-economic development of the country and allow monitoring the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals in Turkmenistan.
