Public organization «Young Naturalist» and the Children's Fund of Turkmenistan under the Central Council of the Youth Organization of Turkmenistan named after. Magtymguly announced a drawing competition about marine mammals. The event is timed to coincide with World Marine Mammal Day, which is celebrated on the 19th February. Children and teenagers aged 6 to 15 years are invited to participate in the competition. The purpose of the competition is to attract the attention of the younger generation to the problems of conservation of marine mammals.

Competition entries can be made in any technique on A3 paper and accompanied by information about the author, including last name, first name, age of the participant, title of the work, contact information. Works can be sent by mail to the organization’s address: Ashgabat city, Azady street, building 61, «Ylym» publishing house.

Drawings for participation in the competition are accepted from the 1st to 10th of February, 2024. The winners of the competition will be announced on the 15th of February, 2024. The authors of the 10 best works will receive the right to go on an excursion to the Hazar State Reserve. All competition participants will be awarded certificates and memorable gifts.

«We hope that the competition will help children and teenagers learn more about marine mammals and think about the need to protect them», says Leyli Shyhmadova, head of the public organization «Young Naturalist». Created in 2022, the organization is engaged in the popularization of science and nature conservation among children and adolescents, carries out activities to teach them the basics of ecology and environmental management, and to form an environmental culture of the younger generation.
