Speaking following the results of recently held meetings and negotiations in Ashgabat, TURKSOY General Secretary Sultan Rayev expressed satisfaction with the deepening of the Organization’s cooperation with Turkmenistan. According to the head of TURKSOY, cooperation will be intensified in two important areas.
Firstly, the 300th anniversary of the outstanding Turkmen poet and philosopher Magtymguly Fragi will be celebrated with large-scale events.
It was noted that many events are planned to be organized outside the Turkic world to popularize the works and cultural heritage that the outstanding classic left behind. Another priority area of cooperation between TURKSOY and Turkmenistan is related to the announcement of the Turkmen city of Anev as the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2024.
As Sultan Rayev reported, the opening ceremony of the year «Anev - the cultural capital of the Turkic world - 2024» is planned to be held in March. Preparations for the celebration, which will be attended by more than 150 artists, have already been completed.
Anev is expected to raise the bar for the cultural capital program of the Turkic world. Many important TURKSOY events are planned to be held in Turkmenistan, such as a theater festival, a film festival, a media forum, a meeting of artists and photographers. «Our meetings dedicated to culture and art will further strengthen the bridges of friendship between the Turkic peoples», -said TURKSOY General Secretary Sultan Rayev.
