A business meeting of representatives of the business circles of Turkmenistan and France took place on Wednesday in Paris in the format of a business lunch. On behalf of the Turkmen side, diplomats from the Embassy of Turkmenistan in France and specialists from the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan took part in the business lunch. Representatives of French companies were present at the meeting.
The event participants discussed a wide range of issues related to the intensification of trade, economic and investment cooperation between Turkmenistan and France. The Ambassador of Turkmenistan in Paris, Maksat Charyyev, told French businessmen about the favourable conditions created in the country for cooperation with foreign companies, and invited French entrepreneurs to become participants in investment projects implemented in such areas as the chemical, gas and petrochemical industries, textile industry, and agriculture and other promising areas of the Turkmen economy.
At the negotiations, the possibilities of creating joint ventures with French companies in the textile and processing industries and the agro-industrial complex were considered in Turkmenistan.
French businessmen were also informed about the transit and logistics potential of Turkmenistan, including the capabilities of the international seaport in Turkmenbashy, the developing network of railways and roads that can be used in trade between France and Turkmenistan, as well as the countries of the Asia-Pacific region.
The business meeting and negotiations are of particular importance due to the fact that they took place on the eve of the upcoming International Forum on attracting foreign investment in the energy sector of Turkmenistan (TEIF 2024) on the 24th to 25th of April, 2024 in Paris.
