A delegation of the State Enterprise «Uzbek National Institute of Metrology» under the «Uzstandard» Agency is on a working visit to the State Reference Centre of the Main State Service «Turkmenstandartlary» of Turkmenistan from the 4th to 8th of March.
Cooperation between the metrology institutes of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan is based on a Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2021, for the implementation of which a joint program on scientific and technical cooperation in the field of metrology was approved.
Previously, online meetings were held via videoconference between specialists from the two institutes, during which the capabilities of available equipment, calibration techniques for types of measurements - such as temperature, pressure, mass, force, small volume, electrical measurements and the results achieved in these areas were discussed.
The current face-to-face meeting is being held with the support of the project of the German Institute of Physics and Technology RTV «Strengthening the quality infrastructure in the countries of Central Asia». In the future, it is planned to exchange information, mutual visits of experts to conduct joint seminars and meetings, exchange experiences and other events.
The interaction of metrological institutes will contribute to the further implementation of joint projects and will positively affect the quality of preparation for international accreditation in accordance with international standards.
The State Reference Centre of Turkmenistan is designed to provide the national economy of Turkmenistan with a unified measurement system and reliable state control over testing and measuring instruments. Measurements are of paramount importance for trade, accounting of material resources, planning, ensuring the quality of products and services, as well as for the development of technology and medicine in the country.
