Two sections of the topical exposition “Changing Society” and “Changing Landscapes” organized by Japanese Embassy supported by the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan are composed of 76 works of famous masters. It was mentioned at the ceremony that the exhibition presents 22 unique visions of the development of Japanese society.
As expected the exposition was opened by the blossoming sakura presented in two works by Risaku Suzuki. Sakura, the symbol of Japan, is a decorative cherry tree that turns into blossom with white and pink flowers in the spring. The author managed to transfer his admiration with this unique plant.
The subject of municipal transport was interestingly presented in the exposition. The photo bby Daydo Moriyami “Bus in the Fog” casts different fantastic moods, imagining old transport flying in the air. This is exactly the case when the ordinary thing, owing to photographer, is seen as something unusual.
Other Japanese artist Nobuyoshi Araki is interested in people during the trip by public transport – his shots pictures men and women reading newspapers and books. Long distance trips by bus is an opportunity to make use of the time for practical Japanese people.
The youth of the 80s of the last century is presented in two works by Joji Hosiguchi “Rainy Sunday”. The weather spoiled the plans for pleasant evening, which young guys dreamt of the whole week. Not hiding their disappointment, they squat dolefully covering from the rain with umbrellas. Their look makes you smile and sympathize.
Four girls sitting in the same position at the bus stop are in the same mood. The rain made correction in their plans for the evening. It is funny to look at this people forty years after as today, the weather could hardly disappoint their peers.
The works of Masato Seto are especially attractive among the series of colour pictures about the picnic. This is very touchy theme for our people that experienced Ashgabat earthquake in 1948. In his world’s famous work “Kobo after Earthquake”, photographer Ruzi Miyamoto captured the façade of large facility covered with inexorable cracks as if with the spider net, which can break the like a hose of cards building at any moment.
