The teams of Thailand, India and Brunei became opponents of the youth national team of Turkmenistan (under 17 years old) following the results of the draw for the 2025 Asian Cup qualifying tournament held today at the House of the Asian Football Confederation in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia).

43 teams will compete in the qualifications, divided into 10 groups.

Turkmenistan and its rivals have formed group «D», the matches in which will be held in one round from 23rd to 27th of October in Thailand.

Turkmen football players will play their first match on the 23rd of October against the Thais. In the second round on the 25th of October, they will play against their peers from India. The qualifying tournament will end on the 27th of October with a game against Brunei.

«A»: Iran, Jordan (host), Syria, Hong Kong, China, North Korea.

«B»: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cambodia (host), Philippines, Macau.

«C»: Republic of Korea, China (host), Bahrain, Bhutan, Maldives.

«E»: Uzbekistan, Iraq, Taiwan (host), Palestine.

«F»: Japan, Qatar (host), Mongolia, Nepal.

«G»: Australia, Indonesia, Kuwait (host), Northern Mariana Islands.

«H»: Malaysia, Laos (host), UAE, Lebanon.

«I»: Yemen, Vietnam (host), Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar.

«J»: Tajikistan, Oman, Singapore (host), Guam.

The finals of the Asian Youth Cup (U17), which will be held from the 3rd of April to 20th of April, 2025 in Saudi Arabia, will include the group winners and the five best teams among the runners-up.

Based on the results of the final stage, which is a qualification stage, the best football teams will receive the right to represent Asia at the 20th Youth World Cup. It is noteworthy that from 2025 the format of the World Under-17 Championship will change, which will become an annual event with the participation of 48 teams. The next five editions of the world junior championship from 2025 to 2029 will be hosted by Qatar.
