An unforgettable event took place in the cultural life of the capital - the famous Turetsky Choir gave two concerts at the Mukams Palace of the State Cultural Centre of Turkmenistan.

«We have long wanted to get to Ashgabat, finally we got there and were surprised to the core by such a beautiful, clean and well-groomed White City in the desert», the director of the Choir, Mihail Turetsky, began the concert program with these words. «Move aside, New York, Paris, Tokyo, give way to Ashgabat», this is the impression your city made on us. And now it's time to surprise you with our art.

And the unique musical group immediately managed to do this. Mihail Kuznetsov performed Rimskiy-Korsakov’s «The Snow Maiden» in such a way that it was perceived as obvious and incredible. Mihail is the owner of a rare voice - a male soprano. By the way, in the Turetsky Choir there is also the lowest in the world - bass profundo, which is possessed by Yevgeniy Tuminov.

The song «Your Nobility» from the film «White Sun of the Desert», which was filmed on the shores of the Caspian Sea, sounded in a special way. Video footage from this film was cheerfully combined with a bravura performance of the song.

From Moscow with love - the team of the «Turetsky Choir» was well prepared for the meeting with the Turkmen audience. The song «Ashgabat» was performed to the verses of our Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov, and the video footage for it once again emphasized how good our capital is. The songs «Garagum» and «Bibijan» from the Turkmen repertoire were also performed.

The Turetsky Choir has its own style of performance - the soloists walk freely around the stage, and each performance looks like a mini-performance, and its director, who is also the host of the concert, Mikhail Turetsky, constantly involves the audience in the hall in a joint choral performance. In the end, he did it very well - the audience and stage sang the songs «A Million Scarlet Roses», «Katyusha» and «The Volga River Flows» together. So now every listener of this concert can say about themselves - I sang in the Turetsky Choir.

By the way, before the concert, at a press conference, Mikhail Turetsky was asked the question: «How can I get into your team? » «Simply as simple as that», came the answer. «You have to have a unique voice».

During the performance of a cycle of military songs, the Russian folk song «Dubinushka» was sung, but not at all in the same way as Peter Chaliapin once sang it, but in a modern, patriotic way. Video footage on the screen showed not barge haulers pulling a barge, but steelworkers, polar explorers, Gagarin, new cities, happy faces of the younger generation. Only great masters of their craft can transform the message of a song in this way.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Turkmenistan Ivan Volynkin thanked the artists for a wonderful evening.
