The Turkmen crew consisting of brothers Merdan and Shohrat Toyliyev, competing in a Nissan Patrol from the "Turkmenavtoulaglary" agency, won the bronze medal in the Russian stage of the International Silk Way Rally 2024. They achieved this success in the T2 class off-road vehicle category, which features 8 crews, 3 of which represent the Turkmenistan Automobile Sport Federation.

According to the "Turkmenavtoulaglary" agency, Merdan serves as the pilot in this race, while Shohrat is the navigator.

The first two places in the T2 class were taken by Russian crews: Andrey Sushentsov and Alexander Shchanov, and Anton Melnikov and Anton Nikolaev, respectively.

The Silk Way Rally 2024 will continue until July 15. Participants still have to complete special stages in Mongolia, which will determine the final winners of the race.

The rally, with a total length of 5257 km, started on July 5 in Tomsk. The finish will take place in Ulaanbaatar.

The race includes all-terrain vehicles, motorcycles, quad bikes, buggies, off-road vehicles, LADA Sport crews, MAZ trucks, KAMAZ, Ural Motorsport, GAZ Raid Sport, and others.

Last year, brothers Merdan and Shohrat Toyliyev finished second overall in the T2 class of the Silk Way Rally.
